On January 19, the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church opened the doors to its new Health Clinic, marking a significant step toward community well-being, regional church leaders reported.

The clinic’s mission is to provide accessible health-care services to both the local community and employees within the division’s campus, located in Silang, Cavite, Philippines, reflecting the church’s dedication to wholistic health and community service.

The Adventist Church, which is known for emphasizing health and wellness, has taken a proactive approach to meeting the community's health-care requirements, church leaders said. The newly opened Health Clinic will provide a variety of services, including primary care (general health check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care), health education (workshops and seminars on nutrition, lifestyle, and overall well-being), and community outreach (engaging with local residents to understand and address specific health concerns).

The clinic has ambitious plans for expansion to include comprehensive health-care services that better meet the community’s diverse needs. In the near future, the clinic intends to offer dental services as well as mental health assessments and counseling to address psychological well-being. Likewise, the clinic plans to incorporate optical services to broaden its range of offerings. These future offerings demonstrate the clinic’s dedication to growing and adapting to the changing health-care landscape while consistently prioritizing the community’s overall health and wellness, leaders said.

SSD officials and staff attended the inauguration ceremony. SSD president Roger Caderma voiced his support for the project. “We believe in assisting our community in any manner imaginable. The Health Clinic is an extension of our dedication to our neighbors’ well-being, and we are pleased to see how it can improve the lives of those we serve,” he said.

Qualified medical professionals and Adventist community volunteers dedicated to offering high-quality care with compassion will serve at the new Health Clinic.

SSD health ministries director Lalaine Alfanoso said, “I am grateful for the Adventist Church’s initiative in establishing this Health Clinic. It provides much-needed health-care services right in our neighborhood, making it easier for everyone to prioritize their health.”

Church leaders emphasized that the initiative reflects the church’s ongoing commitment to promoting the health and well-being of individuals and communities. In that sense, the new Health Clinic is poised to become a valuable resource for the local community, fostering a culture of wellness and compassion, they said.
