Divine Forgetfulness

“‘What sins?’ He asks on that great day, and it will be an honest question. ‘None, Lord,’ grace teaches us to say.”

Divine Forgetfulness

“The Lord Who promises to throw our sins into the depths of the sea (Micah 7:19) is He Who walks upon the waves: all things are beneath His feet. Because of grace, we have no more authority over the story of our guilt: He carries our sins—and permanently disposes of them. Christ will choose, as only sovereign divinity can do, to unremember what we’ve done—unthink the record of our past. ‘What sins?’ He asks on that great day, and it will be an honest question. ‘None, Lord,’ grace teaches us to say. So stay in grace.”
