There’s an untapped power in prayer that can be ours if we just ask for it. That’s the gist driving the 2026 10 Days of Prayer, an initiative of the General Conference Ministerial Association of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to motivate church members and leaders to dedicate specific times for personal and corporate prayer.

“We believe prayer is the birthplace of revival,” church leaders wrote on the page dedicated to the 2026 event. “God has worked so many miracles in past years as we have sought Him together in prayer and fasting. The Holy Spirit has brought about conversions, renewed passion for evangelism, revived churches, and healed relationships,” it reads.

The theme selected for 2026 is Unleashed! According to church leaders, it emphasizes the importance of inviting the Holy Spirit to transform our lives and our world. “The indwelling Holy Spirit fills us with the Father’s love and empowers us to be fearless and effective witnesses for Christ,” it reads. “Why not ask for this Gift? We invite you to experience 10 Days of Prayer not as a program but as a new lifestyle.”

Unleashed! consists of three sections, including time alone with God, investing time to gather with friends and family in daily prayer, and joining our local church family for a multigenerational daily prayer session.

Initiatives in past years included Abiding in Christ (2016), A Deeper Experience (2019), Seeking Revival (2021), and Back to the Altar (2023).

Throughout the years participants have emphasized the benefits of joining the initiative. “10 Days of Prayer was such a wonderful experience! Our congregation gathered and prayed for each other. There were tears and joy in this holy meeting, and as we prayed, we saw God’s love and His answer to our prayers,” wrote Yan from Indonesia. Jenny, from South Korea, wrote, “I feel like I have been infused with renewed power and strength. I am truly blessed to be a part of the group of prayerful people. God answered most of my prayers, and I leave those prayers still needing answers to His wisdom and timing.”
