TAIWAN

Taiwan Adventist Schools Unite for Evangelistic Week, Leading Nine to Baptism

From April 28 to May 2 Taiwan Adventist Academy (TAA) and Taiwan Adventist International School (TAIS) united to host a spiritually enriching five-day evangelistic week. The event marked a milestone in the Taiwan Conference’s (TC) 2025 evangelistic mission, regional church leaders said.

Earlier in the school year Talum Tu, TC’s Education Department director, had introduced this five-stage plan to equip schools for active engagement in soul winning. The plan includes preparation through health outreach and friendship ministries; seed planting through literature, media, and personal invitations; spiritual cultivation through Bible study initiatives; reaping through evangelistic meetings; and preservation through discipleship training for new believers.

This evangelistic week specifically reflected the “harvest” phase, as both schools came together to host a joint gospel program on their shared campus. Du presented messages centered on the second coming of Jesus.

Students responded with sincerity and faith, and nine accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. “This moment reflects the true mission of Adventist education,” Tu said. “We are here, not simply to educate minds, but to save souls. Our schools are not just academic institutions—they are mission fields.”

VIETNAM

Adventurer Club in Hanoi Marks Growth in Membership and Ministry

The Adventurer Club in Hanoi concluded its second year of operations with an Investiture ceremony on April 12, recognizing the commitment and achievements of its young members.

Established in 2022, the club has grown steadily and now serves as a key children’s ministry in the area. The 2024-2025 club year began on October 5, 2024, with eight early birds and 11 builders enrolled.

A significant increase in participation this year included children from the surrounding community, including those from non-Christian backgrounds. Club leaders identified this development as a valuable opportunity to share biblical values with a broader group of children.

The club held an induction ceremony on November 30, 2024, formally welcoming new members into the global network of Adventurer Clubs. During the program children pledged to follow Jesus and to be kind and helpful.

Despite challenges such as cold weather and high levels of air pollution, which restricted outdoor gatherings, the club remained active by relocating activities indoors. Children were also encouraged to perform acts of service at home. One parent sent a message to club leaders. “I am forever indebted to you and your team for the impact you have had on my child,” he said.

SOLOMON ISLANDS

Youth From Local Churches Prepare for Community Outreach

More than 200 youth from Kukum Seventh-day Adventist Church and its church plants, Solomon Islands, attended a spiritual retreat from April 11 to 13.

Centered on the theme “Fill Me, Lord, and I Will Go!” the weekend included presentations, seminars, discussions, and camp drills designed to encourage personal spiritual growth and preparation for mission work.

In his opening remarks Junior Tahani, Kukum youth coordinator, expressed his hope that participants would encounter Jesus personally and be inspired to make disciples throughout the year.

Guest presenter and Fera Jack, Kukum senior church pastor, reminded attendees that spiritual readiness requires intentional reflection. “In order to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we must first empty our lives of everything else we’re holding on to,” Jack said.

Church elders led sessions on a variety of topics, including relationships from an Adventist perspective, the Sabbath and work ethic, and administrative support for youth ministries.

The youth ministry team is now preparing to implement the Voice of Youth evangelism program across eight local sites later in May. The initiative is part of the lead-up to the national Solomons for Christ campaign, scheduled for 2026.

UNITED STATES

Adventist School Turns Nature Into a Living Classroom

At Downers Grove Adventist School (DGAS) in Downers Grove, Illinois, the classroom doesn’t stop at the door—it stretches into the trees, trails, and skies above.

Through a thoughtfully crafted outdoor education program, students are stepping outside each week to experience learning in the natural world, guided by both academic standards and biblical inspiration.

“We wanted our students to learn not only from textbooks but also from what [Seventh-day Adventist Church cofounder] Ellen White called ‘God’s great lesson book,’ ” said Yanina Jimenez, teaching principal at DGAS. “Nature gives our students a chance to engage deeply—with each other, with their studies, and with their Creator.”

Armed with clipboards and a mobile supply cart, DGAS teachers transform grassy schoolyards into interactive classrooms where students observe, measure, sketch, and reflect. Each lesson is tied to the North American Division’s academic standards and designed to be cross-curricular. During a recent session, students tackled topics from Genesis 1 alongside such math concepts as symmetry and data collection, art through nature sketching, and poetry.

“Every walk outside becomes an opportunity to learn science, language, Bible, and character,” Jimenez explained. “But most important, it’s a chance to experience awe—and give thanks—for God’s creation.”

FRANCE

Adventist Youth Gather and Connect With an Eye on Mission

The North France Federation of the Seventh-day Adventist Church resonated with the rhythm of its youth from April 17 to 19. The Seven’UP event, a gathering organized by the Adventist youth of the North France Federation team, brought together young people, age 15 to 35, for three intense days marked by hope, unity, and a renewed call to mission.

For several years a growing desire had been felt among the youth of the federation: the wish to live a meaningful shared experience that transcended local activities. Seven’UP was born from this aspiration, leaders said.

The event followed the theme “We Want to See Jesus Lifted Up.” “Seven’UP 2025 aimed to be a space for spiritual reconstruction, where each person could deepen their relationship with Christ, rediscover their calling, and renew their commitment to service,” organizers said.

According to organizers, Seven’UP 2025 is not intended to be a one-off event, but rather the starting point of a movement. “The stated ambition is to plant the seeds of a larger movement: that of an Adventist youth that is united, deeply rooted in the gospel, passionately committed to mission, and determined to ‘lift up Jesus in every area of their lives.’ ”
