Leaders Inaugurate Wide-Reach Radio Studio in Rio de Janeiro
On June 7, Seventh-day Adventist leaders inaugurated the studio of the new Rádio Novo Tempo in a special ceremony held at the headquarters of the Rio de Janeiro Conference (ARJ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event brought together leaders, church administrators, Novo Tempo leaders, and special guests, including Eduardo Canales, director of Adventist World Radio for the Americas.
“We are very excited for this inauguration. This radio station came to add to the other radio stations around the world to spread the message of salvation,” Canales said during the ceremony.
Radio Novo Tempo is located on the fourth floor of the ARJ administrative headquarters in a modern communication complex. In addition to radio broadcasts, the facilities house a team dedicated to journalistic production, videos, photos, and resources for social networks, expanding the reach of the Christian message through various means, leaders said. The station has a reach of 13 million people who live in that area, they reported.
According to Antonio Tostes, president of Novo Tempo Communication Network, the new station contributes to the strengthening of an essential channel. “Its goal is to bring messages of faith, encouragement, and Christian values to thousands of homes,” he said.

Waldfriede Hospital Follows Restructure Procedures Among Financial Headwinds
Waldfriede Hospital, an Adventist medical facility in Berlin, Germany, is celebrating its 105th anniversary during 2025, highlighting its journey of renewal and transformation amid financial headwinds. “When we stop and look back, we are filled with great gratitude for the guidance that God has given Waldfriede,” said Martin Knoll, spokesperson and chaplain of the hospital.
The health facility has recently completed a comprehensive and ambitious restructuring program as a result of its significant rise in operational costs, the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the nonreimbursement of medical services totaling approximately 15 million euros—an outcome of treating more patients than anticipated in the city’s health-care plan. These factors have imposed severe financial strains on the hospital, leaders reported.
Under the leadership of CEO Bernd Quoss, the hospital management—supported by the board and the Inter-European Division (EUD)—made the decisive choice to pursue a protective shield procedure. The move provides substantial financial relief, hospital leaders recently reported.
“The love of God and humanity is our driving force in all our endeavors,” Quoss said. “We remain acutely aware that all our successes and the good that unfolds within these walls are ultimately the result of God’s grace.”

Pathfinder Camporee Draws More Than 600 Youth and Leaders
More than 600 children, youth, and leaders gathered May 14-18 for a Pathfinder and Children’s Camporee in Cambodia’s Kampong Thom Province. The five-day event emphasized discipleship, leadership development, and character building through honors classes, interactive sessions, and worship experiences.
The opening ceremony was led by Roger O. Caderma, president of the Adventist Church in the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), and Pastor Hang Dara, president of the Cambodia Mission (CM). Cambodia is home to approximately 2,300 Adventist young people. According to regional church leaders: “it’s a number that continues to grow despite the nation’s complex religious landscape.”
Participants attended various honors classes, including amphibian, family life, first aid, stewardship, and handicraft. Guest speakers and facilitators came from across Southeast Asia and Australia, representing ministries in youth, children’s education, health, stewardship, and family life. Their collective guidance and encouragement served as a powerful reminder that young people not only are the future of the church—they are its present strength, organizers said.
Team-building exercises promoted unity and lasting friendships among campers from various provinces, while evening worships invited participants to commit their lives fully to Jesus. By the end of the program, 62 young people chose to surrender their lives to God.

Team From AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region Serves in Lesotho
Global Health Initiatives (GHI), the Rocky Mountain Region branch of AdventHealth Global Missions, recently launched a new partnership with Maluti Adventist Hospital in Lesotho, a small mountainous country in southern Africa. The GHI team led its first clinical mission trip to Lesotho, focusing on collaborative projects with the hospital and outreach efforts in the surrounding communities.
“The first AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region team to serve at Maluti Adventist Hospital in Lesotho was very successful,” shared Greg Hodgson, director of GHI. “The partnership with the hospital was outstanding, with full support of Maluti staff and logistics.”
The team from AdventHealth was made up of several specialized groups, including community health, Helping Mothers and Babies Survive (HMBS), a hospital-based team, and a clean-water team. During the mission week the community health team served 1,164 patients, providing screenings for HIV, tuberculosis, and cervical cancer. They also offered well-being consultations to support overall patient health.
“As in any first project, some areas for improvement were acknowledged, yet everyone was impressed with the overall success of the partnership,” Hodgson said. “As we prepare for the next visit in October, we will continue to build on the foundation laid during this important visit.”

Penang Adventist Hospital Elevates Interventional Care With New Imaging System
Penang Adventist Hospital has taken a significant leap forward in patient care with the installation of the Philips Azurion Biplane, a state-of-the-art imaging system designed to transform interventional procedures. Installed on May 28, the advanced technology marks a milestone in the hospital’s ongoing mission to deliver safer, smarter, and more connected health-care services, hospital leaders said.
The Azurion biplane is a next-generation image-guided therapy platform that provides real-time, high-definition imaging from two planes simultaneously. This capability allows medical professionals to visualize complex vascular structures and navigate intricate procedures with enhanced clarity and control. By offering improved visualization, smart automation, and intuitive workflow features, the system significantly boosts procedural accuracy, minimizes radiation exposure, and reduces treatment time—ultimately enhancing safety and comfort for patients.
“With this powerful technology, Penang Adventist Hospital is better equipped to perform a wide range of interventional procedures, including neurovascular interventions, cardiac catheterizations, and complex vascular treatments,” hospital leaders reported. “The system’s efficiency and precision contribute to better outcomes and support the hospital’s commitment to delivering world-class care.”
