The board of directors of Hope Channel International has named Robbie Berghan as the new vice president-elect for global media and engagement. Berghan’s leadership comes at a pivotal time as Hope Channel International expands its efforts to reach unreached people groups with the message of eternal hope.
Berghan brings a unique blend of media, evangelism, and technological expertise, making him well equipped to lead Hope Channel International’s efforts in leveraging media for mission, expanding digital evangelism strategies, and strengthening collaborations across the global Hope Channel network.
He is currently serving the Australian Union Conference as the national content and promotions manager for Faith FM, a nationwide radio ministry in Australia. Since 2020 he has successfully transformed the platform into a dynamic evangelistic tool, implementing a broadcast-to-baptism model, audience engagement strategies, and digital outreach tools. His leadership has contributed to significant listener-engagement growth and increased spiritual impact across Australia.
With a background that spans pastoral leadership, church planting, digital evangelism, and content innovation, Berghan has served in various ministry capacities across multiple continents. He has held roles at local church, conference, union, and division levels, always focusing on using media to share the gospel effectively.
Berghan’s election follows the leadership of Chanmin Chung, who has provided dedicated service in this role. As part of the denominational employment process, a formal service call is underway. Berghan will transition into the role following the completion of this process and the necessary logistical arrangements.
“I’m humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve with Hope Channel International,” Berghan said. “In these challenging times the world needs the good news of the kingdom of heaven, and Hope Channel is uniquely positioned to share it globally. Prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit will be key to our success.”
Hope Channel International president Vyacheslav Demyan welcomed Berghan’s election, stating, “Robbie brings a passion for mission, significant experience in cross-cultural communication, and a deep understanding of how media can serve as a powerful tool for evangelism. I look forward to seeing how God will use his leadership to expand Hope Channel’s impact and bring the message of eternal hope to even more people around the world.”
Berghan is not stepping into this role alone. He is joined by his wife, Rebeka, their 9-year-old son, Arris, and their 4-year-old daughter, Ariella. Their love and support have been essential to his ministry.
“When God calls someone to ministry, He calls the whole family,” Demyan added. “Robbie’s journey in mission has never been his alone. It has been a commitment shared with his wife, Rebeka, and their children, Arris and Ariella. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire family for their willingness to follow God’s calling together. May God bless them as they take this next step in faith.”
Gideon Mutero, vice president for finance at Hope Channel International, affirmed this pivotal choice: “I welcome Robbie to his new role. He brings tremendous experience in engaging media audiences from his work at Faith FM. I wish him and his family God’s blessings during this transition.”
As Hope Channel International advances toward its vision to reach 1 billion people by 2030, Berghan’s leadership will play a vital role in expanding the reach and impact of Hope Channel’s global media and engagement efforts.
