Our Chains Are Gone

"Jesus sees our brokenness and sin with such unblinking, clear-eyed realism that our old nature at first cringes for the shame exposure brings. But Jesus also holds us with such a warm, unshakeable embrace that we at last relax—relieved—into the grip of love that's never changed by what we do or fail to do. When we are freed by grace, we are unchained from memory and fear: we relish every liberation tale. It is Christ's joy to set—and keep—each prisoner free. So stay in grace."
