Heroic Faith

“The heroes of the faith are those who learn, at last, to distrust brain and brawn and bravery. These gifts, impressive as they seem to us, are powerless to save our heroes from themselves. Mountains moved and giants conquered are results of saving faith, and never causes of it. No force in God’s wide universe can match the power of one soul saved by grace and happy in the Lord. Our humbled hearts, aflame with gratitude, may do the work of God more fully than great talent trusting in itself. Christ’s robe of righteousness—available to all—is all the armor heroes need. Stay in grace.”
