The Reason We Sing
by

“Why talk of grace, and sing of it, and pray to understand it better? Because the natural trajectory of broken lives is always far from kindness, safety and forgiveness. Because we otherwise will trust the fiction that we can do the saving of ourselves. Because the habit of ‘speaking grace’—of gratitude—aligns our lives with heaven’s unmatched joy, and brings that joy into the hours of each day. We live differently—feel differently, believe differently, love differently—because God has filled our mouths with grace. His we are, so hymn we sing. Stay in grace.”
