OF GRATITUDE AND GRACE
by

There is a science—no, an art—in learning to be grateful. In time, we learn that we didn’t self-create, nor can we meet even our simplest needs. A beating heart, the next clear breath, the clarity to hear or read this line—these are all gifts that call for humble thanks. Our gratitude is just the measure of the grace we’ve welcomed and accepted. Wisdom finally tells us truth: we didn’t make ourselves, and we can’t save ourselves. We are the sum of all that we’ve been given. So stay in gratitude—and grace.
