“Genetics load the gun; lifestyle pulls the trigger.”
—Jim LeVos, during the Sabbath school lesson study on “Lifestyle Witnessing,” at the Toll gate Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pennsboro, West Virginia

Adventist Life
2012 1520 page13Lack of a good night’s sleep was blamed for a crabby spouse. He was getting ready to go shopping as I made up the list. I wrote: “Bring Home a Happy Spirit.” With that wording, my husband thought it was a product to purchase, and asked where he’d be able to find it. When I pointed heavenward, he caught on, and the sweet spirit came immediately, with a hug and repentance!
With “giveness and forgiveness,” Fred and I have enjoyed 65 years of togetherness! We laugh at our shopping list and think: “Blessed are they that can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.”
—Velma Beavon, Dayton, Montana

Heading out for another evening of Ingathering on a very windy, cold, snowy night, my little 6-year-old daughter looked up at me and said, “Mama, tonight can we be the folk that sit at the church and when the people come back with their money say, ‘Well, how did it go?’ ”
—Ramona Trubey, Arcadia, Indiana
